Designed in 1949, The Hans Wegner Style Round Chair was released originally, which became known simply as “The Chair”, because, to many, it seemed nearly perfect and simple: an elegantly curved, minimalist design consisting of only 11 pieces of wood. The Hans Wegner Style Round Chair supported many famous people’s behind, including John F. Kennedy’s and Richard Nixon’s during the 1960 presidential debates. With the design completion of the Hans Wegner Style Round Chair, Wegner came into his own right and imagination, no longer needing the inspiration from other cultures and designers that had affected his earlier work. This chair was created in a common language in terms of the shape and construction that only Wegner could spoke and it triggered the first ever, foreign reports have widely commended it on the Danish design in the American Interiors Magazine.
